What Nepal Wire is

Nepal Wire is an automated newsroom for news about Nepal. Its stories are written by AI and checked by AI judges against the outlets that reported them, as each story's byline says. Each story links to those outlets.

Reading, sharing and quoting

Reading the site is free and needs no account. You may share any story's link. You may quote a short passage if you credit Nepal Wire and link to the story. Each photo carries its own credit line, and reusing a photo follows the licence that line names.

Accuracy and corrections

A story reports what its sources said on the day it ran. When a story is wrong, it is corrected openly, with a dated note, and listed on the corrections page. The standards page says how stories are checked.

Nothing here is legal, financial, medical or travel advice. Exchange rates and gold and silver prices are shown as the bank and the dealers' federation published them; banks, remittance companies and jewellers set their own prices.

Comments

Comments on the site are read before they appear. Abuse, spam, off topic comments and comments that expose a private person do not appear. How comments are kept is in the privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Stories link to the outlets that reported them and to sharing pages. Those sites have their own terms.

The Facebook app

Nepal Wire's Facebook app publishes posts to the Facebook Pages and Instagram account its owner runs and reads how those posts did. It offers no login and collects no data about Facebook or Instagram users. The privacy policy has the detail and says how to ask for any data to be deleted.
